Troubled Waters Postponed for Review

"Troubled Waters: A Mississippi Story" is a documentary several years in the making. It was set to release at the Bell Museum on October 3rd, but University Relations decided it was too 'anti-agriculture'. Now it is being "reviewed" until further notice.
Some of you may have already heard about this from the local press (daily planet, star trib, another star trib). I think it's important that this documentary is actually shown, and doesn't get swept under the rug. I hope that there is some semblance of academic freedom at the University of Minnesota, but events like these make me question... Unfortunately this is not the first time Karen Himle, our VP of University Relations, has spoke out against research that isn't so pro-corn.

Abandoned Six Flags

After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Six Flags was immediately closed, never reopened. About a year ago, someone went there and took dozens of beautiful photographs of the decay of the amusement fair. See them here.
